To become a grower on Backyard Gardener simply fill out the registration form and get started. As soon as you are registered you can start searching gardens near you.

Once you are a registered buyer on the Backyard Gardener App you are able to search local gardens for produce. When you find the products you want to purchase, you will be taken to checkout. At checkout you can choose pick up or delivery. Depending upon the items purchased, location, etc. delivery may have an extra charge. Any fees will be clearly listed before final purchase.

To become a seller on Backyard Gardner simply fill out the registration form and pay the one-time account setup fee of $99. Once our team receives your registration, we will build your seller profile. If we need more information from you, we will schedule a time for a call. It takes approximately two weeks for your account to be live on the app. NOTE: SELLER ACCOUNTS ARE FREE UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2024.

There is a one-time fee of $99 to set up your seller account. When you make a sale in through the app we charge a 3% fee to help cover costs. When you sell directly to your customers we do not charge anything. For this reason, we suggest you work directly with your customers when possible.

Once you are registered our team will activate your account and send you the link to build your garden store. After you have built your store, people will be able to search for the products you have for sale. When they want to purchase from you, they have two options: 1. Customers can reach out through the chat button to arrange the transaction directly with you. In this case, all monies are exchanged directly between you and the buyer at the time of sale. We keep no portion of direct sales so you receive 100% of the sale, or 2. Customers can purchase directly in the app. In this case, they will order and pay through the app. You will receive a notice about the sale once it is complete. You then fulfill the sale, and we will release the monies to you within 2 business days- minus 3% of the sale. NOTE: When you complete the transaction through the app we must charge 3% to cover associated costs. To avoid costs, please conduct business outside of the app.

When you sell on the Backyard Gardener App it is your responsibility to keep current with any laws and regulations that apply to your business. Most people operate as a sole proprietorship and report their income accordingly. Some sellers are LLCs, Corporations or hybrids. While we don't require a copy of a business license, your local government might so please check your particular situation.

Once our team receives your registration, we will contact you to schedule a quick on boarding call. During the call we will decide together the best way to present your profile and services. It takes approximately two weeks for your account to be live on the app. NOTE: EXPERT ACCOUNTS ARE FREE UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2024.

For a witness to be declared an "expert" in court, it must be shown that you have specialized knowledge through training, education or practical experience.​ We think that definition works here too. If you know more than most people about an area of gardening through experience or education, then you are an expert in that area of gardening and we welcome you to join us as a Backyard Gardener Expert.

There is a one-time fee of $99 to set up your account. After the set up fee there are no more charges to be listed as an expert in our app. If you want to run classes, consultations and offer other services through the app, we charge a 50/50 fee split.

Once you are a registered expert there are a number of ways that you can start earning- on your time: give one on one consultations offer classes and upload articles to forums. We are always open to new ways of working together. If you have an idea that will benefit our community and ourselves, please let us know during your onboarding call.
